Mentoring

Mentoring acts as an individually focused, commercially geared, confidential counselling arrangement for those who would like career advice, job change or life-style direction. Individual career aspirations will be discussed with the mentor and an ‘in depth analysis’ will follow. Topics include aptitude, educational or training needs, and historical career challenges. A time-line for change will be agreed and a personalised programme forwarded. The mentor in this case is principal Mike Preece

For young people undecided on a career path to best translate their skill set for the commercial world.

G8 Consultancy also offers parents a chance for their children to attend mentoring sessions for career advice and life choices.

Mike Preece holds a ‘certificate of disclosure’ from the United Kingdom Criminal Records Bureau which verifies legal clearances to allow him to act as a mentor for young people. In these sessions the young person (usually 13-18) will discuss in total confidence, their career goals and aspirations and a plan will be drawn up
for them to develop skills and attitudes to attain them. Equally if the mentor feels the aspirants goals are overly ambitious, the young person can be guided towards a more achievable career objective which is in line with their strengths and skill-set. A report on the child with commercial reccomendations and skill assesments will be forwarded to parents or guardians.
